Twitter friend, ancient spirits are with us all the time, it is a gift when the personality of one organizes itself in such a way that you can appreciate it, it doesn't mean YOU are "possessed", it means your awareness opened and you grasped it. Enjoy.....!

"I don't want anyone to be unduly alarmed, but I may have becomed possessed by the spirit of an eagle.
a Turkish friend who is an expert on very, very old things gave me an ancient wooden object as a birthday prese
it's made of smooth old wood, and it fits over 3 of your fingers, and sems to have a long curved hook on the end.
then you look again, and realise that the whole thing is shaped like bird, and the long hook is the curved beak of an eagle.
I'm not normally religious or superstitious, but this object seems to emanate some kind of power.
my friend tells me the eagle was an important shamanic symbol amongst the early Turkic tribes (who invented shamanism, apparently
normally just hearing the word shamanic would make me run a mile, but there's something just spookily powerful about this thing
http://twitpic.com/1a8pn - this is my spooky old wooden artefact birthday present - a haunted eagle
what's so odd is that when I put this thing on my hand, it makes me feel kind of happy and powerful.
although this may just be a vague memory of something similar in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I do realise how COMPLETELY batshit this sounds
when you put it on your hand, the beak of the bird becomes like a talon attached to you...a bit Freddy Kruegerish
my friend, Ziya, says these things were actually used to help gather in wheat - you could hold more in arms if wearing the talons
but I'm not convinced.
maybe Ziya is a shaman, and he's given me the eagle to make me fall under his power....he seems to know an awful lot bout the subject.
or perhaps the process of losing my marbles is finally complete - I think it could well be time for a drink and a reality check.
it's probably just an entirely harmless early Anatolian finger puppet........"
