Shiver me timbers if this holds up I never thought I might consider Montana a place of retirement rest for me bones..But here it is - let's see how the Powers handle this... As you might have noticed several other states have done this and I published them as well and even brought it to our legislature in Nevada as format.( No comment from the people up in Carson City..)

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT EXEMPTING FROM FEDERAL REGULATION UNDER THE COMMERCE CLAUSE OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES A FIREARM, A FIREARM ACCESSORY, OR AMMUNITION MANUFACTURED AND RETAINED IN MONTANA; PROVIDING FOR THE DUTIES OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL; AND PROVIDING AN APPLICABILITY DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Short title. [Sections 1 through 7] may be cited as the "Montana Firearms Freedom Act".

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Legislative declarations of authority. The legislature declares that the authority for [sections 1 through 7] is the following:

     (1) The 10th amendment to the United States constitution guarantees to the states and their people all powers not granted to the federal government elsewhere in the constitution and reserves to the state and people of Montana certain powers as they were understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. The guaranty of those powers is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.

     (2) The ninth amendment to the United States constitution guarantees to the people rights not granted in the constitution and reserves to the people of Montana certain rights as they were understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. The guaranty of those rights is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.

     (3) The regulation of intrastate commerce is vested in the states under the 9th and 10th amendments to the United States constitution, particularly if not expressly preempted by federal law. Congress has not expressly preempted state regulation of intrastate commerce pertaining to the manufacture on an intrastate basis of firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition.

     (4) The second amendment to the United States constitution reserves to the people the right to keep and bear arms as that right was understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889, and the guaranty of the right is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.

     (5) Article II, section 12, of the Montana constitution clearly secures to Montana citizens, and prohibits government interference with, the right of individual Montana citizens to keep and bear arms. This constitutional protection is unchanged from the 1889 Montana constitution, which was approved by congress and the people of Montana, and the right exists as it was understood at the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 3.  Definitions. As used in [sections 1 through 7], the following definitions apply:

     (1) "Borders of Montana" means the boundaries of Montana described in Article I, section 1, of the 1889 Montana constitution.

     (2) "Firearms accessories" means items that are used in conjunction with or mounted upon a firearm but are not essential to the basic function of a firearm, including but not limited to telescopic or laser sights, magazines, flash or sound suppressors, folding or aftermarket stocks and grips, speedloaders, ammunition carriers, and lights for target illumination.

     (3) "Generic and insignificant parts" includes but is not limited to springs, screws, nuts, and pins.

     (4) "Manufactured" means that a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition has been created from basic materials for functional usefulness, including but not limited to forging, casting, machining, or other processes for working materials.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 4.  Prohibitions. A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in Montana and that remains within the borders of Montana is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce. It is declared by the legislature that those items have not traveled in interstate commerce. This section applies to a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured in Montana from basic materials and that can be manufactured without the inclusion of any significant parts imported from another state. Generic and insignificant parts that have other manufacturing or consumer product applications are not firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition, and their importation into Montana and incorporation into a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured in Montana does not subject the firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition to federal regulation. It is declared by the legislature that basic materials, such as unmachined steel and unshaped wood, are not firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition and are not subject to congressional authority to regulate firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition under interstate commerce as if they were actually firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition. The authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce in basic materials does not include authority to regulate firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition made in Montana from those materials. Firearms accessories that are imported into Montana from another state and that are subject to federal regulation as being in interstate commerce do not subject a firearm to federal regulation under interstate commerce because they are attached to or used in conjunction with a firearm in Montana.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 5.  Exceptions. [Section 4] does not apply to:

     (1) a firearm that cannot be carried and used by one person;

     (2) a firearm that has a bore diameter greater than 1 1/2 inches and that uses smokeless powder, not black powder, as a propellant;

     (3) ammunition with a projectile that explodes using an explosion of chemical energy after the projectile leaves the firearm; or

     (4) a firearm that discharges two or more projectiles with one activation of the trigger or other firing device.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 6.  Marketing of firearms. A firearm manufactured or sold in Montana under [sections 1 through 7] must have the words "Made in Montana" clearly stamped on a central metallic part, such as the receiver or frame.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 7.  Duties of the attorney general. (1) A Montana citizen whom the government of the United States attempts to prosecute, under the congressional power to regulate interstate commerce, for violation of a federal law concerning the manufacture, sale, transfer, or possession of a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured and retained within Montana must be defended in full by the Montana attorney general.

     (2) Upon written notification to the Montana attorney general by a Montana citizen of intent to manufacture a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition to which [sections 1 through 7] apply, the attorney general shall seek a declaratory judgment from the federal district court for the district of Montana that [sections 1 through 7] are consistent with the United States constitution.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 8.  Codification instruction. [Sections 1 through 7] are intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 30, and the provisions of Title 30 apply to [sections 1 through 7].

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 9.  Applicability. [This act] applies to firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition that are manufactured, as defined in [section 3], and retained in Montana after October 1, 2009.

Town withdraws effort to ban guns

The Bob Ruud Community Center was almost filled to capacity at Tuesday night's meeting where two hotly debated agenda items were the focus of community concern.

There was definitely a hot time in the old town Tuesday night, due in part to an item placed on the town board meeting agenda by Pahrump Town Manager Bill Kohbarger that would have barred firearms on town-owned property, in town-owned buildings and at town-sponsored events.

Fired up residents braved the frigid winds blowing down from snow-capped Mt. Charleston as they streamed into the Bob Ruud Community Center 30 minutes early to ensure a seat for the meeting.

By the time the meeting was called to order at 7 p.m., dozens of residents were standing in the back of the hall.

The board's first order of business after the pledge of allegiance was to permanently remove the firearms ban from the agenda, on advice from the town's attorney, Rick Campbell.

He said, "My research shows the town does not have the legal right to enact these types of ordinances." That ended the matter for the board but didn't stop the 200 or so people in attendance from wanting to voice their opinions. Residents waiting to address the board lined up behind the speaker's podium and around the back of the auditorium.

Board Chairman Nicole Shupp tried to cut off the speaking, but attendees protested, wanting the board, and specifically Kohbarger, to know where they stood on the issue.

A man stating he was from District 5 was first to speak. His name was lost in the noise of the crowd as they reacted to the fact they would not be able to speak on the matter. "The colors have been shown," he said. "We are not okay with this. We can see what's coming in this country. The government is getting out of control. When it comes to gun rights and the Second Amendment, we can't give any more ground. We have zero tolerance on this issue."

The speaker paused as the hall broke out in thunderous applause.

"I want get the people whose idea this is fired," he continued. "Gun restriction only hurts the honest citizens. Don't our elected officials recognize this fact?

Referring to the recent murder of a convenience store employee, he added, "When you walk into a convenience store in Pahrump, do you know who's walking in behind you?"

As the woman next in line tried to ask the board a question, Shupp told the gathering, "We are moving on."

The crowd reacted, with several people yelling out, "Let her ask a question."

Shupp used her gavel to quiet the room, again saying the board would move on to the next agenda item, but a male voice from the back of the auditorium called out, "All in favor of hearing the question say 'Aye'."

"Ayes" rang out in the community center.

Shupp was not swayed in her determination to move to the next item. She told those in attendance that the gun ban was permanently removed from the agenda but they were invited to come back and comment at the next regularly scheduled meeting. She said, "We'll be here until midnight if everyone in the room takes a turn at the podium."

People shouted out they wanted to know why a gun ban was on the agenda in the first place, but no answer was forthcoming.

"You are not going to be re-elected madam," called out someone from the back of the hall.

Harley Kulkin addressed Shupp and the board, saying, "If you don't have time to listen to the people who elected you, you shouldn't run for public office."

In a brief interview after the lengthy meeting, Kohbarger, who bore most of the blame from those in attendance, said two residents asked him to put the gun ban on the agenda.

"They didn't show up to back me up on their own item, but I've got broad shoulders," he said.

He said he'd canvassed more than a dozen people after the item was proposed to him and came to the conclusion that guns carried in the open intimidated people.

Before the town attorney advised Kohbarger the town could not enact the ordinance, he'd planned to change the agenda item so those with concealed carry permits would not be prohibited from carrying their firearms, "because those people have training."

Obama administration to clash with corporations over UFO files

President Obama's January 21 Memoranda to promote Open Government and strengthen the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) are intended to release unnecessarily classified national security files. Among the many millions of classified files to ultimately be released, some will concern UFOs and extraterrestrial life. From these releases, UFO enthusiasts and exopolitical researchers hope to find clues into how government policy has been developed. More importantly, FOIA releases will point to where the bulk of the nation's UFO files are located. That's when the Obama administration will run up against corporate control of UFO files and policy.

Testimonial evidence exists that corporations have become the ultimate repository of the nation's UFO secrets. A number of whistleblowers have emerged revealing how corporate control has been achieved. A recently deceased corporate whistleblower revealed how during the mid-1980s, he worked for six months as an archivist for a large aerospace defense contractor based in California.  It was a temporary assignment with his employer at an obscure office building. The archivist found many files dealing with flying saucers and extraterrestrial life. The files contained: "Reports, photos, media materials (tapes, films, video cassettes) and material from crashed saucers." When asked where the files came from he revealed the "materials came from everywhere. CIA, Air Force, Navy, Army, DARPA, NORAD, DoD, FBI, and government officials to name most."

If the archivist's testimony is accurate, this means that prior to the mid-1980s UFO files were taken out of the possession of U.S. government agencies and military departments due to security concerns. One reason for this is that the proprietary rights of corporations would enable UFO files to remain hidden from the prying hands of congressmen, and private citizens using the Freedom of Information Act first passed in 1966 and strengthened in 1974.

The above scenario is supported by comments by Ben Rich, former CEO of Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works. In hand written responses to questions from John Andrews of the Testor Corporation in 1986, Rich confirmed the existence of both man-made and extraterrestrial UFOs. Most importantly, Rich revealed to Andrews how control of UFO files had slipped from the U.S. military to private corporations. Andrews relayed Rich's responses to questions from UFO investigator William McDonald which confirmed:

There are two types of UFOs -- the ones we build, and ones THEY build. We learned from both crash retrievals and actual "Hand-me-downs." The Government knew, and until 1969 took an active hand in the administration of that information. After a 1969 Nixon "Purge", administration was handled by an international board of directors in the private sector.

Former astronaut, Dr Edgar Mitchell recently confirmed an incident in 1997 where the Head of Intelligence for the Joint Chiefs of Staff was supplied the code names of UFO related projects, but was denied need-to-know access. The first to report the incident was UFO researcher, Dr Steven Greer, who in 2001 revealed that Admiral Wilson was furious over his failure to gain access. On a July 4, 2008 CNN interview, Dr Mitchell confirmed Greer's version of events when he said that Admiral Wilson "had found the people responsible for the cover-up and for the people who were in the know and were told, I'm sorry, admiral, you do not have need to know here and so, goodbye." A reliable source furthermore revealed to UFO researcher Richard Dolan that Admiral Wilson was frustrated by attorneys of a corporation that denied him access. I interviewed an active duty U.S. Navy officer in October 2008 who confirmed the powerful role of corporations involved in UFO projects.

A number of senior officials in the Obama administration were deeply involved in Clinton administration efforts to disclose files concerning UFOs. If President Obama's January 21 Memoranda are fully implemented, FOIA requests will allow much information about UFOs to emerge. This will give important clues to where the bulk of the nation's UFO files are kept. That is when the Obama administration will run up against powerful corporate interests claiming proprietary control of UFO information and advanced extraterrestrial technology. The Obama administration will ultimately need to confront corporate interests that house UFO files, and controlled UFO policy since the Nixon Administration.

Nixon's Dark UFO/ET Legacy

Everyone is familiar with the damage Nixon's Watergate scandal did to the United States but there is an even darker legacy yet to surface into the public domain. This darker legacy revolves around Nixon's secret extraterrestrial policies. These secret policies are turning out to be catastrophic for both global society and the global environment.

I believe that the UFO/ET community has been slow to grasp the significance of statements made by the late Ben Rich, former head of Lockheed's Skunkworks, and aviation engineer Bill Uhouse. They both have stated that there had been a Nixon purge and privatization of extraterrestrial policy and exploitation of extraterrestrial resources in the 1960s. This took extraterrestrial policy out of the hands of both government and the military and put in the hands of industry and its CIA allies. In my opinion the Nixon purge and privatization of United States extraterrestrial policy in the 1960s set back the UFO/ET disclosure process at least thirty years and suppressed beneficial extraterrestrial diplomatic initiatives by the State Department, military and other actors. The positive benefit of privatization was the secret efficient exploitation of extraterrestrial resources for both military and public use. The downside was that this positive benefit has been far outweighed by a continuation of the UFO cover-up and an extremely damaging industry-CIA profit based extraterrestrial policy.

In discussions involving an active duty naval officer by Shawn and Clay Pickering over the past year on the Open Minds Forum it appears that both the military and the State Department are reasserting control over extraterrestrial policy from private industry and the CIA. The military UFO Working Group and the State Department seem to have taken the lead in attempting to regain control over extraterrestrial diplomatic initiatives.

The overall situation seems to be continuing to improve with the incoming Obama administration where the Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) is well represented. It is also well know that the Clintons had apparently been shut out of briefings involving extraterrestrial reality when Bill Clinton was in Office and so may not be complicit in the UFO cover-up. A further positive sign is that Hillary Clinton is now head of the State Department and a pro-disclosure John Podesta is closely allied with Bill and Hillary. www.presidentialufo.com

According to the active duty naval officer know as Source A, several extraterrestrial races unified by a race that he calls the conformers are intent on making themselves known to world populations by 2017. All these developments seem to be creating a perfect storm that may push disclosure forward rapidly in the next several years. (See previous article www.ufodigest.com/news/0109/naval-officer.html )

Is it possible that we pro-disclosure advocates and activists inside and outside of government many no longer find ourselves fighting an anti-disclosure tide? Is it possible that the tide is about to change to support our efforts rather than hinder us? Perhaps Nixon's dark extraterrestrial legacy may finally be coming to an end.

This is quite interesting.  I didn't try to verify any of the numbers (seems ok) but it's the proposal I like. 

"The  Proposal"

When a company falls on difficult times, one of the things that seems to happen is they reduce their staff and workers.  The remaining workers need to find ways to continue to do a good job or risk that their job would be eliminated as well.  Wall street, and the media normally congratulate the CEO for making this type of "tough decision", and his board of directors gives him a big bonus.

Our government should not be immune from similar risks. 

Therefore: Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to 218 members and Senate members from 100 to 50 (one per State). Also reduce remaining staff by 25%.
 
Accomplish this over the next 8 years. (two steps / two elections) and of course this would require some redistricting.

Some Yearly Monetary Gains Include:

$44,108,400 for elimination of base pay for congress. (267 members X $165,200 pay / member / yr.)

$97,175,000 for elimination of the above people's staff. (estimate $1.3 Million in staff per each member of the House, and $3 Million in staff per each member of the Senate every year)

$240,294 for the reduction in remaining staff by 25%.

$7,500,000,000 reduction in pork barrel ear-marks each year. (those members whose jobs are gone. Current estimates for total government pork earmarks are at $15 Billion / yr)

The remaining representatives would need to work smarter and would need to improve efficiencies.  It might even be in their best interests to work together for the good of our country?

We may also expect that smaller committees might lead to a more efficient resolution of issues as well.  It might even be easier to keep track of what your representative is doing.

Congress has more tools available to do their jobs than it had back in 1911 when the current number of representatives was established.  (telephone, computers, cell phones to name a few)

Note:
Congress did not hesitate to head home when it was a holiday, when the nation needed a real fix to the economic problems.  Also, we have 3 senators that have not been doing their jobs for the past 18+ months (on the campaign trail) and still they all have been accepting full pay.  These facts alone support a reduction in senators & congress.

Summary of opportunity:

$ 44,108,400 reduction of congress members.

$282,100, 000 for elimination of the reduced house member staff. 

$150,000,000 for elimination of reduced senate member staff. 

$59,675,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining house members. 

$37,500,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining senate members. 

$7,500,000,000 reduction in pork added to bills by the reduction of congress members.

$8,073,383,400 per year, estimated total savings. (that's 8-BILLION just to start!)

Big business does these types of cuts all the time.

If Congresspersons were required to serve 20, 25 or 30 years (like everyone else) in order to collect retirement benefits there is no telling how much we would save. Now they get full retirement after serving only ONE term.  Merge the current congressional retirement plan with Social Security to provide more funding for SSA and let our Congress look forward to retirement just as their constituents do.

Sun Dance

Sun Dance

The Sun Dance is a ceremony practiced differently by several North American Indian Nations, but many of the ceremonies have features in common, including dancing, singing and drumming, the experience of visions, fasting, and, in some cases, self-torture.

The Sun Dance was the most spectacular and important religious ceremony of the Plains Indians of 19th-century North America, ordinarily held by each tribe once a year usually at the time of the Summer Solstice.

The Sun Dance last from four to eight days starting at the sunset of the final day of preparation and ending at sunset. It showed a continuity between life and death - a regeneration. It shows that there is no true end to life, but a cycle of symbolic and true deaths and rebirths. All of nature is intertwined and dependent on one another. This gives an equal ground to everything on the Earth.

The Native American tribes who practiced sun dance were:

The Arapaho, Arikara, Asbinboine, Cheyenne, Crow, Gros, Ventre, Hidutsa, Sioux, Plains Cree, Plains Ojibway, Sarasi, Omaha, Ponca, Ute, Shoshone, Kiowa, and Blackfoot tribes. Their rituals varied from tribe to tribe.

For many tribes of Plains Indians whose bison-hunting culture flourished during the 18th and 19th centuries, the sun dance was the major communal religious ceremony - the rite celebrates renewal - the spiritual rebirth of participants and their relatives as well as the regeneration of the living Earth with all its components - the ritual, involving sacrifice and supplication to insure harmony between all living beings, continues to be practiced by many contemporary native Americans.

The most renowned priest was also the best Lodge maker. He ran the entire ceremony and would instruct the participant in building a preparatory tepee and give direction to the other tribesmen who would gather the items needed for the construction. Men known for their eminence in their tribe were chosen to look for a tree with a fork in the top. This was to be for the first and center pole of the lodge. When a suitable tree was located a special qualified person was called in to cut the tree down. The fallen tree was then treated just like a fallen enemy. Then, depending on the tribe a bundle was placed on the fork. In the Sioux tribe the bundle contained brush, buffalo hide, long straws with tobacco in them and other religious offerings.

The eldest woman of the camp leads a group of elaborately dressed maidens to the tree to strip off its branches. The next morning, right as the sun is seen over the eastern horizon, armed warriors charge the sun-pole. They attack the tree in effort to symbolically kill it with gunshots and arrows. Once it is dead it is cut down and taken to where the Sun Dance Lodge will be erected. Before raising the sun-pole, a fresh buffalo head with a broad center strip of the back of the hide and tail (is) fastened with strong throngs to the top crotch of the sun-pole. Then the pole is raised and set firmly in the ground, with the buffalo head facing toward the setting-sun." The tree represents the center of the world, connecting the heavens to the earth.

The lodge is then built by the main dancer and his clansmen. The fork of the lodge represents the eagle's nest. The eagle plays a large part in the Sun Dance for it is one of the Plains Indians' most sacred animal. The eagle flies high, being the closest creature to the Sun. Therefore it is the link between man and spirit, being the messenger that delivers prayers to the Wakan-Tanka (god).

In addition to being a messenger, the eagle also represents many human traits. We can see what values and traits these cultures saw as being important in a person by those traits imposed upon such a sacred animal. The eagle is seen as courageous, swift, and strong. He has great foresight and knows everything. "In an eagle there is all the wisdom of the world."

During the Sun Dance the eagle is the facilitator of communication between man and spirit. The Crow may be accompanied by a dancing eagle in his visions, the eagle instructing him about the medicine acquired through the vision. The eagle's feathers can cure illnesses. During the Sun Dance a medicine man may use his eagle feather for healing, first touching the feather to the sun-pole then to the patient, transferring the energy from the pole to the ill people.

It is the buffalo, however, that makes up the main theme of the Sun Dance. In various stories it was the buffalo that began the ritual. The Shoshone believe that the buffalo taught someone the proper way to carry out the dance and the benefits in doing it. Buffalo songs, dances, and feast commonly accompany the Sun Dance.

You can see from the symbolic influences of the buffalo in the Sun Dance how important the animal was to Plains Indians' day-to-day life. It was the buffalo that symbolized life for it was the buffalo that gave them quality of life. Plains Indians relied on buffalo for their food, clothing, shelter, and most all utensils from fly swatters to children's toys. These peoples' lives were intertwined with the buffalo's. And this relationship was praised and blessed with the Sun Dance.

The buffalo was incorporated in many ways in the Sun Dance. The Cheyenne held a principle that all essential sacred items in the sun dance (be) related to the buffalo. The Lakota would place a dried buffalo penis against the sun-pole to give virility to the dancers. This reinforces the symbolic meaning of the ceremony as a celebration of the generative power of the sun.

The sun dance was a significant part of the Crow Indian people's spirituality. It was a spiritual retreat in which a large number of participants would fast, pray and dance for a period of days. They asked for answers to events going on in their lives.

The buffalo skull is used as an alter during the Sun Dance. Offerings are presented to the skull, the Cheyenne stuffing the eye and nose sockets with grass, representing bountiful vegetation for the buffalo, which in turn meant healthy buffalo for the people. For others the grass represents bringing the buffalo back to life for grass is what gives the animal life. The Dakota believe that the bones of bison they have killed will rise again with new flesh. The soul was seen to reside in the bones of people and animals, to reduce a living being to a skeleton is equivalent to re- entering the womb of this primordial life - a mystical rebirth.

During the dance the buffalo also has a great role in the visions. The buffalo may knock down a dancer, or the dancer may challenge the buffalo by charging at it. Passing out for too long means one was too afraid to face the buffalo. One must show courage and stand up to the buffalo before the buffalo finds him worthy to give him what he desires. At a certain point the Crow will notice he is seeing through the buffalo's eyes, that he has become one with the buffalo.

The Sun Dance symbolizes a resolution with the conflict between being a people that view the buffalo as wise and powerful, even closer to the creator than humans, and having to kill and eat them to survive. Making the buffalo sacred, symbolically giving new life to it, and treating it with respect and reverence acts a s a sort of reconciliation. Without the buffalo there would be death, and the Plains Indians saw that the buffalo not only provided them with physical well-being, but kept their souls alive, too.

They also believed that the buffaloes gave themselves to them for food, so the natural course to them would be to offer a part of themselves in return out of gratitude. Thus the sacrifice of the dancers through fasting, thirst, and self-inflicted pain reflects the desire to return something of themselves to nature.

Self-inflicted torture has also come to symbolize rebirth. The torture represents death, then the person is symbolically resurrected. The sun dancer is reborn, mentally and spiritually as well as physically,along with the renewal of the buffalo and the entire universe.

In an effort to curb such practices, the United States government outlawed the Sun Dance in 1904. Among a number of tribes benign forms of the ceremony continued, usually as part of Fourth of July celebrations. There were a few tribes, however, that have attempted to revive the Sun Dance in its original form and meaning.

After the dancers all tear free, or after four days, the Sun Dance ends. The dancers are laid down on beds of sage to continue fasting and to recite their visions to the priest. These visions may hold new songs, new dance steps, or even prophecies of the future. Whatever the outcome, the overall feeling for everyone present is of renewal and balance, the relationships between people and nature once again reaffirmed.

When the camp is ready to leave all sacred items is left in a pile by the sun-pole for they are too sacred to keep for personal use. The Sun Dance Lodge is then left standing for nature to do with it as it wills.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Geologists monitoring Mount Redoubt for signs of a possible eruption noticed that a hole in the glacier clinging to the north side of the volcano had doubled in size overnight — and now spans the length of two football fields.

Scientists with the Alaska Volcano Observatory on Friday flew close to Drift Glacier and spotted vigorous steam emitted from a hole on the mountain. By Saturday, they had confirmed the area was a fumarole, an opening in the earth that emits gases and steam, that was increasing in size at an alarming rate.

They also saw water streaming down the glacier, indicating heat from magma is reaching higher elevations of the mountain.

"The glacier is sort of falling apart in the upper part," research geologist Kristi Wallace said.

The signs of heat add to concerns that an eruption is near, which could send an ash cloud about 100 miles northeast toward Anchorage, the state's largest city, or onto communities on the Kenai Peninsula, which is even closer to the mountain on the west side of Cook Inlet. It would be the first eruption since 1990.

Particulate released during an eruption has jagged edges and can injure skin, eyes and breathing passages, especially in young children, the elderly and people with respiratory problems.

It can also foul engines. An eruption in December 1989 sent out an ash cloud 150 miles that flamed out the jet engines of a KLM flight carrying 231 passengers on its way to Anchorage. The jet dropped more than two miles before pilots were able to restart the engines and land safely.

A week ago, the observatory detected a sharp increase in earthquake activity below the volcano and upgraded its alert level to orange, the stage just before full eruption. The warning that an eruption was imminent caused a rush on dust masks and car air filters in Anchorage.

Alaska's volcanoes typically start with an explosion that can shoot ash 50,000 feet high and into the jet stream, but there are warning signs because magma causes small earthquakes as it moves.

Geologist Jennifer Adleman said the observatory has been recording quakes up to magnitude 2.1 but not at the frequency that preceded the last two eruptions in 1989 and 1990.

"We're looking for an increase of seismicity to match the precursor activity," Wallace said. "We haven't seen that yet."

150 million years ago or so there was a scientist named 'Albert Rex Dinosaur'. He developed a theory that the 10 billion or so Dinosaur that peopled the Earth in his time would cause global cooling leading to the rapid extinction of all dinosaurs! All would perish with the next generation if farting didn't cease immediately! It was because of the massive flatulence from their species, polluting the atmosphere of the planet that was the cause Rex exclaimed. All were urged to hold their exit closed and eventually blew themselves up with gas!

There was only one Dinosaur that didn't believe him, Rev Will Alligator, he insisted that weather on the planet was just a cyclical thing and all Dino's needed to do was adapt as the earth went through its periodic changes! No one believed Rev Alligator but the 'bird tribe and the tortoise tribe'. The tortoise tribe learned to dig underground and conserve energy and the bird tribe grew feathers to keep warm reducing their size as well to not require as much food energy. They are both quite happy today, living side by side with their fellow mammal friends. Some of which however are starting to remind them of the dinosaurs and their gas.

imo 'Disclosure' Hasn't disclosed anything.... at least with evidence that is empirically recognized. And, ~ that is what we are dealing with here in numerous variations of theory's.

They are all circumstantial data bits of subjective reports.

That is how it will remain until ET, whatever or whoever gives a press conference to the planet and shakes all of our hands in person with no political ambitions.

I would love to Doc but AGAIN.................. I'm having flash backs of our old friend and loosing the conversations and work we do on the boards. Where did all of the posts go? All the links I have made to those posts and all the time and energy spent?

I think not, except for idle worthless conversation that is. EZ board is as good as any other board in the world, the work does not go away even if you abandon the board, a few posts a month and the thing will stay active for all the see-able future, for free! Some extrasolar planets may be made substantially from carbon compounds, including diamond, according to a report presented this week at the conference on extrasolar planets in Aspen, Colorado. Earth, Mars and Venus are 'silicate planets' consisting mostly of silicon-oxygen compounds. Astrophysicists are proposing that some stars in our galaxy may host 'carbon planets' instead.

'Carbon planets could form in much the same way as do certain meteorites in our solar system, the carbonaceous chondrites,' said Dr. Marc J. Kuchner of Princeton University, making the report in Aspen together with Dr. Sara Seager of the Carnegie Institute of Washington. 'These meteorites contain large quantities of carbon compounds such as carbides, organics, and graphite, and even the occasional tiny diamond.' Imagine such a meteorite the size of a planet, and you are picturing a carbon planet.

Planets like the Earth are thought to condense from disks of gas orbiting young stars. In gas with extra carbon or too little oxygen, carbon compounds like carbides and graphite condense out instead of silicates, possibly explaining the origin of carbonaceous chondrites and suggesting the possibility of carbon planets. Any condensed graphite would change into diamond under the high pressures inside the carbon planets, potentially forming diamon"

Very strange dreams. Premenstrual, I believe. My menstrual cycle is late and I do not show any signs of starting it? Strange. I went to bed in a shear black negligee type of blouse that I have never worn before. I had thoughts about it being a bad color for me to sleep in but decided it was not really a problem. I woke up at one point during the early morning perspiring and somehow thought it was due to the blouse, so I removed it.

I dreamt of being with my entire family. My birth Mom and birth Dad and my little brother and my little sister and strangely enough, my son. (My older brother John was not there.) The house in which I lived had one particular room, almost like a little den or something that had been made into a guest house. It was very small. I wanted to try to make this room separate from the rest of the house and fly, like an airplane . I can’t remember who was with me, I believe my parents and my son, when I told them and wanted to show them that this room could fly. I first yelled, to the room, to separate from the rest of the house without damaging it. Then I yelled for it to seal itself up tight so we would not be affected by the altitude. The room was suddenly flying but the roof was trying to come off and the walls seemed to be ill fitted and you could see the light coming in from many places. The entire room was shaking as if it would all come apart. It was a bit frightening because I knew we were flying high in the air. *I woke up.

Again I was in a house and wanted to make a room fly. The room was a larger one this time. Much nicer with lots of windows to look out of . My friend from High School (Martha - Kristin Gregorich/Larson) was there with me and I wanted to show her how the room could fly. I asked the room to separate itself from the rest of the house without damaging the remainder of the house. It did so. I asked that it seal itself up tight so we would be safe at the altitude. I thought that it did it. Suddenly the room comes apart from the rest of the house with a little cracking noise and lifts up and begins to fly. Martha and I were looking out the right hand corner of the room. There were two adjoining windows there that were really large. We looked down on what appeared to be a sort of wash or a very shallow in places river that had many people in and around it. The water was brown. We also saw apartment type buildings around it’s banks. I seem to recall them being a tan color like a sort of stucco or adobe. There were balconies and such on the buildings. Middle to lower class type structures.

All of a sudden I felt as if the windows were allowing too much air to come in on us. I yelled once again for the windows to seal up tight. When I did this they actually seemed to become looser and I could then actually hear the air begin to rush in. I looked up at the windows and realized that they had black seals around them and that they seemed to be straining against the seals. I could feel the cool wind rushing in and could feel the walls in the corner being buffeted by the wind. I suddenly had the realization that we were not high enough in the air to need a sealed off environment, so having a completely sealed room was, suddenly, no longer a concern to me. I believe that *I woke up at this point.

*At this time I believe that I realized that I was sweating so I took off the shear blouse that I had worn to bed. At this time I did not realize that I had fallen back asleep at first. I am usually quite cognizant, in some strange way, that I am dreaming. That feeling was lost in the next section of dream time.

I got up to use the bathroom. (I felt as if I were still awake, but I was not) When I got in the bathroom the mirror was all fogged up as if someone had just taken a shower. I could not see c learly in the mirror at first. Suddenly I noticed that someone had taken what appeared to be dry erase marker, colored a dark bright blue, and had written all over the mirrors (there appeared to be 2 separate mirrors), the walls, the door and there were even papers with the blue writing on it. I could not make out any of the words that were written there but it was written in cursive hand writing. I realized that the second mirror, to the left of the first, was a milky etched type of mirror. Strange. I suddenly looked in the mirror, which was clearing a bit and noticed that I was wearing a cheap clear plastic shower cap on my head. I removed it and realized that my hair was wet and had been dyed blonde. (as if I were still in the process of dying it) My hair had been cut very short and was very coarse in texture. At this point I got the feeling that the writing was from someone who was sort of obsessed with me. It was as if it were a very long love letter or something, but obsessive. I saw myself bent over the sink and took a step back to look at myself in the foggy mirror and noticed something dangling between my legs. I put my hand down there and felt a very small penis!
